Airport takes part in annual charity ‘World’s biggest coffee morning’

Staff from the newly-opened Xpress Café at Durham Tees Valley Airport joined in the annual UK-wide ‘world’s biggest coffee morning’ aimed at raising funds to support people suffering from cancer.

Since being launched in 1990 the Coffee Mornings have raised over £165.5million for Macmillan Cancer Support and during this year’s event Xpress Café staff offered cakes, savouries pastries—and, of course, coffee and other drinks—in exchange for a small donation.

Ian Smith, Head of Commercial and Passenger Experience at the airport said “The Café in the main concourse is part of the significant programme of terminal improvements underway at Durham Tees Valley. It will soon be joined by a new Xpress Café and Bar in the refurbished departure lounge.

“The remodelling of the departure lounge also involves the provision of free unlimited Wi-Fi, together with designated work stations and charging points.”
